There are many small and big NGO's working for the animal rights and the protection of animals. We can found  organisations working for Tiggers,Dogs, Cats,Hippos,Deer etc. every where in India, but ironically these people are silent on Indian holy cow.The BGRD has shown serious concern that the holy cow of  India (Desi Gaiye or The Gau Mata) is going to extinct soon if nothing seriously done against Slaughter houses and cow smugglers. According to BGRD our Gau Mata is culturally, socially and economically very important to us.
It is being worshiped by people of India across different religions, cults and castes etc. The Bhartiya Gau Raksha Dal is one of the few NGOs working for cow rights and cow protection. BGRD is active nation wide for the protection and care of Indian holy cow.
Many BGRD member have devoted their lives in selfless service of Gau Mata .

According to the chairman of BGRD Mr.Pawan Pandit "The Cow rights activism of many BGRD volunteers is of such  magnitude that they have many FIRs registered  against them for this cause. Many have got bullets fired to them by cow smugglers.Hence the Organization last year "Hindu Ratna" and " Gau Rakshak Samman Purskar" Awards were announced. The award has been given to more than 100 peoples.

In a press briefing at its national Headquarter in Delhi the BGRD officials claimed that the BGRD started its membership drive in all parts of India. The BGRD is going to host a Cow protectors conference in Bhiwani district of Haryana on 27th of August this year, known as Gau Rakshak Adhivesion. BGRD is inviting Cow Rights Activist from all over the country to join as delegates.
The BGRD claims that its Aim is to care for stray, abandoned cows, bulls, retired oxen, and orphaned calves. BGRD provide them hay, flour, fresh grass, clean water, medical attention and a place where they can recuperate from injuries and stay peacefully.

" Talking to 'World Patrika News' Mr.Pawan Pandit added that The BGRD needs more volunteers for the Cause of Cow rights activism as there are many cow smugglers are well equipped with heavy automatic weapons and latest and fastest vehicle.
