Gr. Noida, Uttar Pradesh: In a significant milestone for media education, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Sharda School of Media, Film, and Entertainment (SSMFE) of Sharda University and the Newspaper Association of India (NAI). This landmark partnership aims to enhance skill development and provide real-world exposure to students pursuing careers in the media sector.

The historic occasion was graced by Dr. Sibaram Khara, Vice Chancellor of Sharda University, and Dr. Vipin Gaur, General Secretary of the Newspaper Association of India. Speaking at the event, Dr. Khara remarked, “This MoU will bridge the gap between academic learning and industry realities, empowering our students to thrive in the dynamic world of media. It underscores Sharda University’s commitment to delivering professional, industry-oriented education.”

The event was spearheaded by Professor (Dr.) Ritu S. Sood, Dean of SSMFE, who played a pivotal role in realizing this collaboration. She emphasized, “This MoU will provide our students with a unique platform to interact with media experts, equipping them with the skills and insights needed to succeed in their future careers.”

A driving force behind this partnership was Professor Rashid Hashmi, a respected figure in the media industry and faculty member at SSMFE. Professor Hashmi stated, “This agreement is a game-changer for students, giving them direct access to the media industry and hands-on professional training opportunities.”

The ceremony was attended by key members of Sharda University, including the Dean of Research, Dean of Academics, and faculty from the SSMFE department. All praised the partnership, calling it a progressive step toward creating unparalleled opportunities for students.

Adding to the excitement, Dr. Vipin Gaur announced the organization of a grand media fest on the Sharda University campus in the near future. This event will bring together media luminaries and students, fostering networking and knowledge exchange on an unprecedented scale.

During this MOU ceremony Prof. Vivek Sharma (Department of International Affairs) from Vison College of Jeonju, South Korea was also present.  He said ""This type of MoU will greatly benefit students. On one side, there is the university, and on the other, the Newspaper Association of India. Such a collaboration is a form of institution-industry partnership that will provide students with hands-on experience and help them in their future endeavours.


This collaboration not only strengthens Sharda University’s academic programs but also serves as a vital link between the media industry and its students. With practical training, expert-led workshops, and hands-on industry experiences on the horizon, the partnership has created a wave of enthusiasm among students.

This MoU positions the Sharda School of Media, Film, and Entertainment as a center of excellence, poised to make its mark not just in India but globally. The agreement is set to revolutionize media education and create pathways for students to excel in their professional journeys.
