New Delhi, 3rd Nov 2017: Indian civil society delegation led by Senior BJP Leader Vijay Jolly met His Majesty The King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in New Delhi. A Buddha Statue, Ram Darbar, Book on Golden Temple, two Indian kurta-payjama for one year old Prince, two silver glasses, ladies purse for Queen Pema & saffron Sanskrit shloka scarf were presented as gifts on the occasion.

Prominent leaders present were VHP General Secretary Champat Rai, Delhi MLA & All India Akali Dal Spokesman Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Industrialist Kewal Kishan Kumar-Chairman Shaktibhog Group of Co's., Punjab Kesari Chief Reporter Satender Tripathi & Delhi Study Group artist Ms. Manshi Goyal (who had earlier made oil portrait of Bhutan King & Queen in 2015 & the painting now adores Royal Palace in Thimpu).   

Mr. Jolly appreciated the positive role of Bhutan in resolving recent Doklam standoff between Indian & Chinese troops peacefully. The BJP leader Jolly also reiterated that Bhutan has special significance for India. And Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first overseas trip was undertaken to Bhutan on 16-17 June, 2014 soon after his swearing in ceremony on 26th May 2014 at New Delhi. This exhibited the firm resolve of PM Modi & his Govt. to strengthen friendly relations with neighboring countries.

To Promote People to People Friendship & Celebrate 50 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between India & Bhutan, the King of Bhutan invited Mr. Jolly to lead a Indian civil society leaders delegation to Thimpu in 2018 & Mr. Jolly accepted it.
